Somo and El puntal (the point)

A wide and open sandy beach stretching over 3 kilometres which finishes in El puntal. You can reach the end of this long spit by walking or alternatively you can catch a small boat from Santander to reach El puntal without the effort. In the summer Somo is a busy beach especially on the weekends. It attracts many beach goers not only due to its impressive size but because it has easy access to many different beach front bars and shops. Somo is a marvellous beach for walking due to its length and impressive low tides. Although its important to be aware of currents when swimming. It is fully lifeguarded as are all the beaches mentioned.
